This album, the song OCTOBER CHILD in particular is made in memory of my beloved lost child Nicholas. He was an intelligent young man with a lot of potential. When he died 15 years ago I went through the toughest time of my life. I felt like I have lost everything and I thought I will never be happy again. I wanted to write a song for my son who was born on 18th October 1985 and with the first song OCTOBER CHILD recorded it marked the beginning of the album. After numerous of crying nights working in the studio, music and the creative process have definitely helped me going through my darkest time.
At the end of the day Copenhagen downtown 14 of December 2006 my nightmare and disaster started.. still in the now at the time of writing, drying tears running down my cheek.Led by intuition and ringing doorbells, I found my son left alone in a cold darkened room . . dead and almost cold.. An unexplainable pain, emptiness and killing energy took place, my heart stood still and I thought my life was over…
Back then I didn’t know that the reasons were met for writing October Child ⭐️
For three years I kept his ashes beside my bed until finding strength and courage to spread at sea
💥 The energy was released and I started again to write music. I remember hiding under the blanket with a mac light, paper and pen. With eyes full of tears, writing down the words revealing the authentic pain of what have impact my life.
It took seven months to write, shape, live through and record the song October Child ⭐️
I knew in my heart that a star was born as this with pride will reflect the memory of my beloved son

First song I wrote for the album and starting the whole process was October Child. My good friend and bandmate Brian Richard R.I.P. was with me from the very beginning and guided me towards the vocals on the first four tracks October Child Raindance Beat Heaven and Waiting for Daylight. He told me that sometimes when he was at home with Jeanette they had evenings where they were only listening “Benny music”.
Despite the differences in the songs, you can always tell it is my music. . . being an original I believe is one strong and unique force
Another funny story. My good friend producer/engineer Flemming Naumann (tracking and producing first JACKAL album RISE), came visiting me in the studio the evening after I was singing the very first vocals on the first track which was “ I’m looking into you - For what you say or do” . . and the rest of the intro verse of OC. After playing the song part Flemming stated: “Shut up Brian sings good” . . me: ”Eehh Flemming, it’s me that’s singing”.. Flemming: “What ?? I thought it was Brian - You sound like Brian”… That was a huge compliment and of course encourage me to keep doing the vocals as when I first met Brian I wanted a T-shirt with him as he was my favorite singer. I was also Brian’s favorite guitar player and he wanted a T-shirt with me. This I think was in particular the reason we made the very outstanding work and partnership in JACKAL.
